How did you start working at EL AL? “I was working at the Israel Government Tourist Office in Toronto where I met the General Manager of Canada at the time Moshe Shamai, one of the key senior managers of the airline over the years until his retirement (and my mentor). In 1998 he convinced me to take the role of Sales and Marketing Manager in Canada. In 2003 I was appointed the first local General Manager for EL AL in Canada and in 2007 made Aliyah and the rest is history”. What does your position entail? “We develop and implement partnership strategies with other airlines so the EL AL passengers have more options to more destinations: codeshare and interline agreements along cooperation with the airlines’ frequent flyer programs. Another

aspect that we are responsible for is the commercial regulatory authorizations that are required for EL AL so that we can operate to destinations around the world”. What do you love about your job? “That through my role I can ensure that EL AL customers have added value thanks to the agreements with our partner airlines”. Which part of your job do you find most challenging? “Explaining the special Israeli and EL AL cultures to our colleagues from other airlines”. What do you always pack with you? “A snack bag of dates and almonds because you never know when the hunger will set in”. Which EL AL destination do you most enjoy flying to and why? “Landing back home in Israel. That is the number 1 destination for me”.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time? “My work is 24/6”. What would you be doing now, had you not joined EL AL? “I cannot even think of any other place to work. I am so proud that I can represent EL AL to other airlines around the world. I see my role as an Ambassador of EL AL and Israel”.
