2024: a year through the lens Over 170 works by 69 photographers are currently on show at the MUZA – Eretz Israel Museum’s Local Testimony 2024 exhibition, with October 7 and the Iron Swords War featuring as prominent themes. Each year, the MUZA-Eretz Israel Museum’s Local Testimony exhibition, celebrates the essential role played by local photojournalists. This year, the works on show have been selected from among the 8,600 photos that were submitted. 124 prints, seven video pieces, and one video installation made by three different photographers make up Local Testimony 2024, which documents the realities brought on by the Iron Swords War. The exhibition’s focus is on the events themselves and on their long-term
societal consequences, through photographs that feature moments of societal and cultural relevance. Some of the themes most explored are: the fight for the release of the hostages, the Haredi protests, daily life under long-term security threats, the evacuated communities of the north and south, nature, the Paris Olympics and Paralympics, and more.
