Israel in the fall: 7 day trips to welcome the autumn leaves Israel’s landscapes are never more beautiful than in the autumntime, when the weather is cool and the air is crisp. Recharge your batteries this season, with a walk along Tel Dor Beach, a lakeside picnic in the park, or a wine tasting experience in the Judean Hills – there’s so much to discover and enjoy / By Ariela Aflalo
01 Magical landscapes Tel Dor National Park
The Tel Dor coastal strip covers 4.5 km of land, from Nachsholim Beach to Habonim Beach, and has been declared a national reserve due to its unique marine life, grottos, geysers, seashell-encrusted bays, sand dunes, and microecosystems. It is a unique site with breathtaking views, nature, landscapes, and heritage. An ancient port city, Tel Dor offers many interesting perspectives – the beautiful sea, dotted with inlets and bays, the kurkar (calcareous sandstone) ridge visitors can ascend to discover its exceptional botanical diversity, and the profusion of fascinating archeological remains. Nowadays, the bay of Tel Dor is dotted with little fishing boats that belong to the nearby village of Fureidis, that add to the oh so very picturesque atmosphere. The park is easily accessible, and with its many benches and seating areas, it offers visitors the perfect setting for a day out with friends and family. parks.orgs.il 02 A bike ride around Ein Kobi Begin Park in the Judean Hills Begin Park, named after Menahem
