Lifestyle I Design

Light Fixtures | Studio Cheha Husband and wife Aya and Nir Chehanowski founded their internationally renowned brand Studio Cheha ten years ago. Together they create beautiful optical illusion wire frame lamps that seem as though they were three-dimensional even though they are completely flat. The lamps come in all shapes and sizes, with the option to personalize them available as well. The couple’s latest series, “Wild Bulbing”, includes brightly colored animal designs with lamps shaped as wolves, pelicans, toucans, owls, squirrels, whales, and peacocks that are perfect as kids’ night lights or as decorative objects for living spaces. The lamps include a USB-powered rechargeable battery with a four-hour-autonomy. All lamps include energy and cost efficient LED bulbs. Price: EUR 79 / NIS 279 per 18x15cm lamp bulbing-light.com @studio_cheha Miniature replicas | Shaul Cohen Industrial designer and artist Shaul Cohen’s miniature objects and buildings have garnered much attention in recent years. He recreates perfect miniature replicas of everyday objects and Tel Aviv buildings via the use of both 3-D printing techniques and ultra-precise draughtsmanship. Aside from replicas, he creates designer objects that represent Israeli folklore. Cohen’s work always includes a big dose of humor, rendering it easily accessible and instantly likeable. One of his works, “Hiding the money under the floor” is a cute little piggybank that looks like a typical Israeli paving slab that instantly evokes the architecture and style of Israeli buildings. The piggybank is made of coated MDF with a 3D-printed top. Price: NIS 250 shaulcohen.com @shaul2nd

Designer mirrors | Studio Reish

Product designer and artist Racheli Sharfstein creates beautiful objects inspired by her exploration of the notion of light and reflection. Her work sometimes reflects the beholder, sometimes the item itself, or at other times, the general surroundings. Her creations are a blend of sophisticated aesthetics and light-hearted humor. The new “Plants” series was especially created for the “Fresh Paint 2023” art fair and includes five types of 2-D plants made of mirrors to be assembled at home. The idea of the design is to create plenty of surface for light to be reflected throughout the room whenever sunlight hits the “plant”, creating a dazzling bronze and green-colored disco ball effect. Price: NIS 580-880 (height: 66-74 cm, mini plant: 30-35 cm) reish.co @studio_reish
