Closing ceremony of the 2022 international summer programs

we recently signed agreements attended our summer courses in 2022. We are also discussing joint study programs and research exchanges for 2023. I have faith that our collaboration with Moroccan partners will become fruitful and enduring cooperations. For example, in October 2023 we will be re-opening our international master’s program in Middle Eastern Studies. This program will include a joint course with the International University of Rabat. In 2022, we decided to increase mobility with countries outside the European Union (where EU grants support mobility). To do so, we launched the VP for Global Engagement Fund, which supports student mobility globally. For example, it is currently supporting a BGU master’s student for a semester at Stanford University. It has funded multiple undergraduates in student exchanges, and as long as funds suffice, it will also support outstanding international students attending BGU non-degree programs in 2023. EXPONENTIAL GROWTH The BGU international student body is comprised of students from more than 70 countries. The largest subgroup is graduate research students from India. The

We also received students from leading universities around the world – Oxford University, University of Southern California, Lund University, University of Rennes 1 and more – for our “sandwich doctorate” program, which has been supported by the CHE internationalization budget. The hope is that students who spend a year in a BGU lab will want to come back for postdoctoral work. Even if not, the joint research and publications produced by such collaborations are of value. THE BGU INTERNATIONAL STUDENT BODY IS COMPRISED OF STUDENTS FROM MORE THAN 70 COUNTRIES. THE LARGEST SUBGROUP IS GRADUATE STUDENTS FROM INDIA. The BGU-NJIT (New Jersey Institute of Technology) Institute for Future Technologies program was inaugurated in March 2022 and brought together 24 pairs of researchers from the two universities for joint research projects. Some of these are already slated to secure binational research funding. The Abraham Accords created opportunities for academic collaborations in Morocco.
