DEPARTMENT OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING

The Department of Mechanical Engineering was among the rst departments established at BGU, with the rst class graduating in 1970. The Department currently consists of 25 full-time faculty members in all major elds of mechanical engineering sciences. The aim of the Department of Mechanical Engineering is to promote the practice of mechanical engineering and mechanical engineering sciences in the broadest sense. We do so rst and foremost by training engineers in our BSc program. Naturally, we envision our graduates as leaders in the various activities performed by mechanical engineers: research, development, design, manufacturing, maintenance, and management. To achieve this, our graduates should be innovative, creative, bright, knowledgeable, and hardworking. In addition, they should possess communication skills, the ability to collaborate with colleagues and lead, and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment. Many of our graduates now occupy leading positions in industry, academia, and government research institutes.
