BGN TECHNOLOGIES BGU’s technology transfer company, BGN Technologies, promotes applied research collaboration between BGU researchers and industry, and protects and commercializes BGU inventions through patent prosecution, licensing agreements and the establishment of startups based on BGU technology. 2021 was BGN’s busiest year ever:

31 Israel Innovation Authority projects approved 9 new startups established based on BGU technologies

133 industry-sponsored research agreements signed 63 new patent applications submitted

undergraduate course for credit, offering 30 outstanding undergraduates from a wide array of disciplines both knowledge of and experience in the process of launching a startup. The program recently expanded its collaboration with Brown University’s Prime program through joint training and networking sessions. In October 2021, Yazamut 3600 won first prize among 66 universities for encouraging "Outstanding Student Engagement & Leadership" at the annual conference of the Global Consortium of Entrepreneurship Centers in Higher Education.

BGN led the formation of a bi-national consortium in the field of cybersecurity and energy which won funding from the prestigious Israel-US BIRD Foundation. This follows on the heels of another successful consortium in the field of water and energy which received BIRD funding in the previous year. Voyage81 , a BGU startup specializing in AI-based computational imaging was acquired by the US-based cosmetics company and global beauty brand Il Makiage for an estimated USD 40 million. YAZAMUT 360 O Yazamut 3600 is the University’s entrepreneurship center, established with the goal of offering students, researchers, and staff innovative learning experiences and ensuring they have the skillset necessary for success in today’s rapidly changing environments. Yazamut 3600’s Oazis program, in collaboration with BGN Technologies and Soroka University Medical Center’s new innovation center, developed the Lab Pre-Acceleration program focusing on use-oriented research and facilitating links between physicians and researchers. The program won first place and NIS 10.8 million in funding in a tender by the Ministry of Science and Technology. The Negev Prime e-commerce program also expanded, thanks to support from the Mack Ness Fund, Bank Hapoalim, Yelin Lapidot Ltd., and Eldan Transportation Ltd..
