BGN Over the past year, BGN, Ben-Gurion University’s technology transfer company, expanded its engagement with industry and strengthened the University’s position as a leading partner for applied research and knowledge transfer. BGN continued to develop and maintain long-term collaborations and framework agreements with major multinational corporations and signed more than 60 research and collaboration agreements with industry partners. A major milestone this year was the signing by BGN of a multi-year agreement with Boeing and the launch of a dedicated Aviation Cybersecurity Research Center . The five-year agreement, valued at over USD 10 million, supports joint research on securing next-generation aviation and aerospace systems and reflects the strength of BGU’s global leadership in cybersecurity and applied research. The past year also saw significant commercialization activity by BGN, including licensing BGU intellectual property to industry partners and the establishment of startups based on the University’s technology. Five new startups were established during the year across diverse technological domains, all based on technologies developed at the University and commercialized with BGN’s leadership and support.

In parallel, BGN continued to register new patents arising from technologies developed at BGU. As of today, BGN holds a portfolio of about 500 patent families, reflecting the breadth and depth of the University’s applied research and innovation pipeline. In 2025, the Planning and Budgeting Committee of the Council for Higher Education ranked BGU first in Israel for industry collaboration and knowledge transfer. This achievement reflects BGN’s strong performance in securing funding for applied research, through both industry collaborations and Israel Innovation Authority applied research grants, and the licensing of the results of the research to industry. the University is a leading partner for applied research and knowledge transfer. The Bio-Innovation Unit , which was established as a dedicated framework to support applied research and commercialization in life sciences and related fields, supported 28 research projects during 2025. The unit helped secure a total budget of approximately NIS 6 million and provided researchers with close professional guidance throughout the funding and development process. BGN-supported companies continued to demonstrate strong market validation. Cyberidge , a startup based on Ben-Gurion University technology, completed a USD 16 million funding round during the year, bringing its total capital raised to USD 26 million to date. Finally, BGN played a central role in strengthening the University’s international visibility over the past year. A notable highlight was the BGN-initiated visit of Royal Hansen, Vice President of Engineering at Google, who met with BGU researchers and delivered a lecture to faculty members, further deepening ties between the University and global technology leaders.
