STUDENT AFFAIRS Some 60 Bedouin students who completed the Gateway to Academy program for outstanding students began their freshman year at BGU. The B-Soulmate suicide prevention program was launched by the Dean of Students Psychological Services and the Student Union . An “Eran – Emotional First Aid” hotline was dedicated specifically for BGU students. The Student Union podcast “Galgamal” was launched in conjunction with the new BGU Radio project. OUTREACH BGU’s She Space program to encourage high school girls to pursue STEM education was chosen to represent the Israel Space Agency at the UN on the International Day of Women and Girls in Science .

The Council for Higher Education appointed Perach to manage a multi-year scholarship program to integrate students of Ethiopian descent into academia, especially into areas where they are underrepresented. In Doctor at the Bar , ASRN, the health sciences student organization, organizes fun and engaging lectures on medical topics in bars around the city. The Aviv Project was expanded this year to deliver workshops on sexual education, sexual violence prevention and medical training to youth in the Aviv immigrant absorption center near the University.
