3.2 FACULTY RECRUITMENT AND SUPPORT Transforming BGU into a talent magnet

The Need BGU has set its sights on becoming Israel’s leading university for research, teaching, and contribution to society, and is striving to become one of the world’s leading institutions of higher learning, capable of significant impact nationally and internationally. The University’s ability to accomplish these goals will rely on the cultivation of research excellence across BGU and its development as a talent magnet capable of attracting the very best researchers. This will advance scientific research at BGU, increasing the University’s global impact significantly, as its problem-solving, application oriented research approach is applied to tackle the major

students eager to become part of a thriving and growing institution of higher learning. Each new recruit has enormous potential. Their research may be ground breaking, addressing a major unmet medical need, producing a life-changing technology, or unlocking a scientific puzzle, thereby opening the door to new avenues of research and the development of future technologies. As educators, new recruits may inspire their students to explore new subjects, challenge existing paradigms, or tackle unsolved scientific problems. Each new recruit will uniquely contribute to the academic achievement of individual BGU students and boost the University’s research capacity in untold ways.
